When you host a party, do you like to make the food yourself or do you prefer to buy it ready-made?
Even if you said you prefer to buy it, I think you’ll like this recipe. I got it from my cousin years and years ago and I’m not sure if she made it up or found it somewhere but it is seriously one of the easiest recipes ever and tastes like something that took a lot longer to make.

When I host a party, I like to make the food but if I leave things to the last minute, I get stressed. Like don’t-come-near-me-or-I-might-bite-your-head-off stressed. I have to plan. I have to organise and I must have lists.
There is usually at the very least a food list and a decorating list and the food list is divided into columns with categories along the lines of - item, recipe, ingredients, prep, made.
If I’m lucky another column for who is making it if people have offered to help (a lot of those columns have Mum’s name usually - thanks Mum!). Wow I sound rather OCD - maybe I am a bit?

Part of being organised for a party is finding recipes that can be made ahead of time and frozen and this is one of them.
I usually make them a while in advance and freeze them in single layers in those foil oven trays so I just have to take them out and throw them in the oven on party day. How simple is that?

They are really delicious and with just 5 ingredients, so very easy to make. You can use any basil pesto you like or sometimes I just use that fresh basil paste that comes in a tube which works just as well.
I know the photos don’t look all that appealing (the pesto goes a bit dark in the oven) but take my word for it these are delicious. Enjoy!

Like you, I like to make all my own party food but usually, just because a lot of things need to be made at the last minute, I will usually 'blend' in a few purchased appetisers. I do love the look of these puff pastry pinwheels - love the proscuitto and pesto combo xx
