Three quick ways to get more Instagram followers

Instagram can be a brilliant way to attract people to your business or it can be a big time suck. If you use your Instagram time wisely, you can attract quality followers and turn them into sales. I’m going to share three quick ways to get more Instagram followers.

At the start of this year, I was complaining to a friend that no matter what I did, I just couldn’t get my Instagram following to grow beyond about 1250 followers.

They’d go up but then go right back down again.

That was 4 months ago. After that little chat, I made some changes including these three quick ways to get more followers on Instagram and at the time of this post I have 1859 and growing.

It doesn’t take much work to grow your following on Instagram and you definitely don’t have to pay some sleazy ‘get more followers’ bozo. Just follow my three tips and watch your following grow.

Oh and the best bit… this will grow your quality followers. Because that’s the key. We don’t just want numbers, we want people who are genuinely interested in you and your business. We want potential clients and customers!

Three quick ways to get more Instagram followers

1 Update your account name

In Instagram you have your instagram handle - mine is @clairekcreations and then under that you have your account name.

A lot of people have their account name as either their name or their business name but this is a bit of a waste of high-value real estate.

When people are searching, the only information that comes up in the search results are your handle and your account name.

If they are the same then you’re not really giving anyone any details about what you do.

2 Pimp your Bio

Again your bio is very important real estate. After someone decides to click through to your account, you have your bio to make them decide whether or not to follow you.

You want it to:

Be easy to read
Explain what people can expect from following you
Give a little bit of unique info about you

You can see from mine I include my name (as I took it out of the account name), a bit about me and what makes me unique and then what I can do for you, the follower.

3 Plan your content

Having some sort of structure to your content helps people know what to expect when they follow you.

When they open your account, they can see your 9 most recent posts and that should give them a quick idea of what you’re about.

Using a tool like the PLANN app can help you to map out and schedule your Instagram posts.
