Spotty cookie pops

Spotty cookie pops

There seems to be a bit of a trend at the moment towards putting things on sticks. Cake Pops, lolly-pop like cakes are 'popping' up everywhere and so I decided to jump on board with a cookie on a stick. They're so much more fun to eat than a regular cookie and make a great gift or party favour.

Ready for baking

I used my chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe with half the amount of chocolate chips. Spoon a teaspoon of the batter onto the tray then press a paddle pop stick into the middle about ⅓ of the way from the top of the blob. Top it with ¼ of a teaspoon of batter then press m&ms (or chocolate buttons) into the dough. I could only fit four buttons on each cookie. Make sure you leave quite a bit of room between each blob of dough as they spread a lot.

Cooling

Bake them according to the recipe. When they're cooked, leave them to sit on the trays until they firm up then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Spotty cookie pops

Package your cookie pops in cellophane bags with a little ribbon. Enjoy!

Note: you can buy paddle pop sticks at craft stores and $2 shops. It's probably best to give them a quick wash and let them dry before using them with food.
