Today is my friend’s Birthday and of course I jumped at the chance to make her Birthday cake. This cake was inspired by one I saw at Sodapop Design a little while ago.
I made a chocolate mudcake and covered it in white buttercream icing. I then, very gently pressed sponge finger biscuits (you can get them at the supermarket) around the cake and secured them with a ribbon and the good old glue gun. I may or may not have also glued the ribbon to a few of the biscuits to hold it in place. Don’t worry I’ll make sure no one eats the glue.
I used a potato peeler to shave a block of dark chocolate over the top of the cake. The combination of sponge fingers and chocolate smells amazing. Happy Birthday Belle!
