Introducing our little man

Published: Feb 8, 2014 · Modified: May 9, 2019 by Claire · This post may contain affiliate links · 40 Comments

Bubba C

Will and I are excited to announce the arrival of our beautiful little man. He arrived at 4.53pm on Wednesday the 29th of January (11 days early!) weighing a nice healthy 8lb 12.5oz (3.98kg).

He has a name but I've decided to continue to refer to him as Bubba C (might change when he's older) on the blog so the little guy can have privacy. Seeing as I'll probably be over-sharing his life I thought that was only fair for him.

We got to bring him home on Sunday and so far we are all doing as well as can be expected for a new family. He loves his heirloom bassinet. I still can't believe mum and I both slept in it when we were babies.

IMG_0902

He's a very happy little man and even though they say newborns don't smile, we get lots if these when he's waking up.

IMG_0872

We've even started getting looks at his beautiful eyes (says proud mum).

IMG_0892

Our first outing was for some new clothes one we discovered how many outfit changes there are in a day. Navy is definitely his colour.

I will be blogging quite spontaneously over the next few weeks as we settle in and when I can take my eyes off this adorableness.

I'm so sorry I missed this post. Congratulations to you both. I hope you're getting some sleep! I remember my mother in law referring to her grand babies as time wasters, she wasn't being mean , she meant she just couldn't take her eyes off them and do anything useful. GG

Congratulations Claire and Will. He is just gorgeous. And such a big baby! Imagine if he'd been 11 days late! My children all started life in the bassinette I slept in as well - they're lovely big bassinettes unlike the modern ones which seem to be smaller even though babies seem to be getting bigger. Yes, the washing! It really does surprise you just how many outfits they need every 24 hours. I hope he's settling into a routine and that you're recovering well from the pregnancy and birth xx

Congratulations....he is beautiful :) I'm only fairly new to reading your blog but I really enjoy it! We have a delightful little man who is nearly 5! Reading your blog reminded me of when he first arrived....and how excited & "in love" we were with this amazing little boy ...I couldn't believe he was ours....to keep!! That excitement and love just grows from the moment you meet.....and even though we are almost 5 years down the track it is still just as amazing as it was the day he arrived! Enjoy this special time, as any parent says, time goes so quickly.

I will never forget Bubba's birthday. :) He's so sweet, Claire and you are absolutely right about blogging. Blogs will always be there but baby boys only last a little while. Enjoy every single moment - especially those neck kisses that feel like you're touching heaven.

Nothing smells better than a freshly bathed baby.

Much love from me to you.
