Happy Australia Day & Happy 94th Birthday to my Grandma

Modified: May 9, 2019 · Published: Jan 26, 2012 by Claire Cameron · This post may contain affiliate links · 8 Comments

Guppy's 93rd Birthday

Today is not only Australia Day, it is my grandma's 94the Birthday. It's extra-special being on Australia Day because it means we all get a public holiday to celebrate her day. No waiting for the weekend when no one has to work.

This year I won't be there to celebrate with Guppy so I thought I'd re-visit last year's Birthday and send all my love and wishes to her virtually (also in the hope that one of my family members who will be there might show her - pretty please!).

Chocolate torte

Last year I made Guppy two Birthday cakes. When you're in your 90s you're allowed at least two Birthday cakes. Everybody loved the torta caprese.

Birthday Cake

Orange syrup cake was the second Birthday cake on the day.

Happy Birthday Guppy!

I'm so glad my grandma has such a sweet tooth (must be where I got it). It makes baking all that much more enjoyable when you see how much people enjoy it.

Happy Birthday Gup! I hope you have a wonderful day and I look forward to having another celebration with you when I'm there.

Thanks for being the best grandma a girl (or boy) could have!

She looks fantastic doesn't she?! Still sharp as a tack too and lives alone. I'm very lucky to have such a wonderful grandma!
