What do you use to remove your nail polish?

If you got it from the supermarket or chemist, there’s a good bet that it contains one or more harmful chemicals.

That smell, the one that kinda gives you a bit of a headache and you try to avoid inhaling it… that’s a sure sign that it’s not doing you any good.

When I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2013, I did my best to eliminate all chemicals from my skincare, bodycare & cleaning products but the one thing I struggled with was nail polish remover.

I use a low-tox nail polish (I even took it with me to a fancy spa the other day I’m that anal about it) but I was yet to find a low-tox nail polish remover that worked I was desperate to find out how to remove nail polish naturally.

You might also be interested in all natural, DIY dry shampoo.

Call me gross but I’d either just keep painting over the colour as it wore down or kinda scratch it off which as you can imagine, never looked that awesome.

Then I discovered yes another use for my amazing essential oils - lemongrass essential oils works as a nail polish remover!

Of course I was skeptical at first (I don’t know why I am still skeptical of some essential oil claims - they just keep proving themselves to me over and over) but gave it a go and blow me down… it worked a treat!

Yes I had to hold the cotton wool ball on for a little while (maybe 10 seconds) but it worked just as well as the chemical-filled stuff and smelled rather like an expensive day spa rather than a toxic pit - ok I exaggerate but you know what I mean.

You literally use it exactly as you would regular nail polish remover but you'll smell amazing afterwards.

Plus you'll be getting some of the amazing benefits of Lemongrass Essential oil:

  • The citral and limonene content in lemongrass oil can kill or stifle the growth of bacteria and fungi. This will help with any sort of fungal toenail issues.
  • Lemongrass can reduce/get rid of headaches (unlike conventional nail polish remover that actually gives me a headache!)
  • Boosts your immune system.

Make sure that you are using a 100% pure essential oil (I use and recommend doTERRA oils) otherwise you could unknowingly still be using chemicals to remove your nail polish as some essential oils are filled with synthetic substances.

If you’d like to give this a go at home I’d be more than happy to send you a sample of lemongrass. Just pop your details in below and reply to my email with your address for the sample.
