On Saturday I was one lucky girl. My sister Anna, friend Sarah and mum threw me the most beautiful bridal shower.
The colour theme was... you guessed it, green!
It was quite a coincidence that it also happened to be St Patrick's Day.
Mum's house was transformed into an amazing land of green.
Everyone got in on it even the three wise me (they're not actually the three wise men that's just what I call them).
The decorations were stunning and they had thought of everything, even fabric napkins made of green and white fabric.
Yes I took it all home and have already used some to cover a box.
I'm going to make some more goodies with the rest of it.
The tea station was just adorable and all the old family silver was brought out and polished up for the occasion.
My grandma loaned her fancy tea cups.
My sister made a gorgeous selection of tea with personalised labels.
I was happy there were some left to take home.
As I write this I'm sipping on a cup of 'love is brewing.'
The food, oh the food.
I spent a good part of the afternoon wandering between the sweet and savoury tables because you know if you have a sweet treat then you can balance it out with a savoury.
There were brownies (2 types!), honey jumbles and green fairy bread (of which I had more than my share).
Ok really I had more than my fair share of everything but I am the bride after all. It was just all so delicious!
The heart-covered book was a photo album, the front filled with photos of Will and me together over the last nearly 7 years!
The girls had made some cute little cards for people to write their words of wisdom on for me and stick them in the book.
These gorgeous flowers are actually little pots of mondo grass with daisies stuck into them.
Aren't they clever?!
I LOVE games so the only thing I requested was lots of them.
This is me as the toilet paper bride.
Our team won.
We might have had a slightly biased judge (my dad) but he swears it was only because I had a toilet paper garter.
This was a very clever game.
Eight different herbs and spices were wrapped up in little pouches and we had to sniff them all and write down what we thought they were.
You would think I would be good at this but no.
Bad food blogger!
Here I am eagerly waiting to open my presents.
I have always been and probably always will be a present lover.
What's not to love?!
I got so many wonderful kitchen goodies it's straight to the kitchen from me.
A few people were even kind enough to share some family recipes.
I love the idea of recipes being passed down through the generations and can't wait to try them out!
Here is a little peek at all my loot. I even got a gorgeous coat-hanger with my new name on it.
Next month's in my kitchen post is going to be pretty exciting.
Thank you to everyone for celebrating the day with me and for all my wonderful gifts and an enormous thank you to Anna and Sarah.
I had the best bridal shower I could have dreamed of!
The celebrations have well and truly begun!

What a wonderful day and I love all the attention to detail. How blessed you must have felt to have all of your family (including your father the judge) go to so much effort for you. If that's the Kitchen Tea, I can't wait to see what the wedding will be like! And green fairy bread - I would have had more than my share too. And the cupcakes are just gorgeous xx

I did Charlie, very much! I can't wait to see the wedding either! 39 sleeps to go!

I might borrow the mondo grass and flower idea next time I do something like that.
