How to make non-alcoholic raspberry spritzers - a much fancier alternative to lemon cordial

Raspberry spritzers

Since I quit Diet Coke (nearly 8 weeks ago!), a whole new world of drinks has opened up before me.

I'll admit it, I liked the flavour of Diet Coke but part of the reason I drank it was because it had zero calories.

I was a little bit worried that stopping drinking it would mean putting on weight but in fact the opposite has occurred.

It seems that what I read about Diet Coke making you hungry is true.

Since I gave up the nasty stuff I haven't had quite as big an appetite and a few bites of a delicious sweet treat is all I need to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Instead of automatically going for a DC when I want a drink, I've been trying all sorts of things but soda water based drinks seem to be winning my heart.

Raspberry spritzer

My go-to drink is soda with lime cordial.

It's refreshing, bubbly, easy to make and not too sweet, but for the holiday season I wanted something a little more festive.

Pink lemonade, or Shirley Temple was (ok sort of still is) one of my all-time favourite drinks growing up so I set to creating an adults version that's not too high in calories.

Raspberry spritzer

Tangy with a little hint of citrus and nice and bubbly, my raspberry spritzers would make the perfect welcome drink at a Christmas shindig.

You could add a little bit of vodka to give them a kick or substitute half the soda water for champagne to make a raspberry spritzer punch.

It's even a nice treat to keep in the fridge for a special pre-dinner drink.

If you use frozen raspberries - I like Nanna's- it's a very economical way to kick off the festivities. Enjoy!

What about you? Do you like to celebrate with a festive drop? What's your go-to Christmas drink?

We have a lot in common. I gave up diet coke about six years ago. When I stopped drinking it I went straight to lime and soda! Once I got over the caffeine withdrawal I was fine. I believe DC is very harmful with all those chemicals so it's so good to be avoiding that drink xx
