15 Ideas to decorate your Christmas table

(sing this) Santa Clause is coming, Santa Claus is coming, he's not very far away.

Time to hang your stockings up, tomorrow's Christmas Day!

I don't think I've ever been so excited for Christmas.

I am usually a Christmas nut but the thought of celebrating with the three kids now our little lady is old enough to get into the spirit has me beyond excited.

15 ideas for decorating your Christmas table

I don't know about you but I love setting the table for special occasions.

I always set the table on Christmas Eve ready for our family breakfast on Christmas Day.

I've already planned the decoration but I'm always on the lookout for new ideas.

If you're still looking for inspiration, I'm here to help.

The one above is a French-themed breakfast.

I love the red and the Eiffel Tower centerpieces.

Of course I wasn't going to just do a Google search to write this post, I did a bit of creating of my own (if you are a new subscriber, you will have seen some of these already but there are new ideas too so keep reading!).

I call this one 'Classic Christmas.'

Out came the wedding silver and crystal and a bit of rosemary from the garden ties it all together.

This one is very country chic.

Bow tie napkins are super simple to make.

Just fold the napkin up like you are making a fan and wrap a little bit of fabric around the middle.

Or you can use a pipe-cleaner like I did on my gold and blue table.

The placemat is a roll of gold tinsel still wrapped around the cardboard it came on.

I couldn't leave out these adorable mitten cutlery holders.

Aren't they cute?

They'd probably be a bit out of place here in hot Australia but if I had a white Christmas I would definitely do a version of these guys.

Or you could just crank up the AC and pretend.

Lime green is my favourite colour so of course I had to include this one.

The little gift in the middle is a homemade scented soy candle. You can learn how to make them here.

This table, from Better Homes and Gardens is just so bright and cheery.

I have seen some little trees like these ones in Coles if anyone wants to re-create the look.

This one reminds me of the beach.

Lots of natural and white.

The napkin ring is made from plant tie fabric from Bunnings.

I'm a sucker for red and white.

It's just so festive!

A few of my candy cane creations would go well with this look.

More red and white.

This one is entitled 'candy land.'

It's a bit kitch but would make a fun kids table.

The napkin holder was made using two napkins.

Place the cutlery on one folded napkin then wrap the second one around to enclose everything.

It's a bit frillier than something I would normally go for but in a room with a roaring fireplace I think this one would be perfect.

I love the pine cones and the strings of red beads.

Orange and silver Christmas table via www.clairekcreations.com

Mum's favourite colour is orange and seeing as she loaned me a few of her fancy napkins for my photo shoot, I wanted to make a table for her.

Cookie cutters make a great little gift for guests.

Very out there I know but this one just screams 'you're going to have fun' to me.

I think those trees would be pretty easy to whip up with a bit of cardboard.

Just cut two big triangles and cut one from the bottom to the middle and the other one from the top to the middle then slide them on top of each other.

Dress them up with bling and you're good to go.

My friend's mum is a music teacher and she would love this setting.

I can see it in a very formal dining room where perfect table manners are a must.

No elbows on the table at this feast.

Yes I'm obsessed with red.

I love the little sprig of rosemary wrapped with red ribbon around the napkin (this might be where I got my idea from).

It's simple and relaxed but very elegant at the same time.

I hope you've gotten some inspiration from my little Christmas table round-up.

Enjoy!

What beautiful tables! I'm woefully inadequate with plain placemats and a poinsettia in a silver bowl in the center of the candle holders. :) We survived. Barely.
