Place the steaks in a container and coat with soy sauce and garlic and leave to marinate for as long as you can (you don't have to leave them but the flavour is better if you do).
Boil the potatoes in a saucepan of boiling water for 15 - 20 minutes or until softened.
Preheat the oven to 180C/360F fan-forced.
Place the veges in a steamer basket over a pot of hot water. You can do them in the microwave if you prefer.
Sear the steaks for 30s to 1 minutes each side then transfer to a lined baking tray. Take the potatoes from the saucepan and place them on the baking tray with the steaks. Squash them by pressing gently with the back of a fork.
Spray the potatoes with a little olive oil and season them.
Bake the potatoes and steak for about 10 minutes.
