g
butter
softened
▢
2
tablespoon
orange rind
grated (the zest of two oranges)
▢
1 ½
cups
plain flour
▢
icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
Pre-heat the oven to 170C fan-forced and line a baking tray with baking paper.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Add the orange rind and beat it through.
Slowly add the flour and mix until it all comes together to form a dough.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly-floured surface and roll it out to about 1cm thick.
Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes of dough and transfer them to the baking tray (you don't need much room between them - 2cm maximum).
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
Leave the biscuits on the tray for 5 minutes to set and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dust with icing sugar to serve.
