Preheat the oven to 160C/320F fan-forced. Grease a 23cm square slab cake pan.
Beat the eggs, yolks and sugar in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until combined. Beat in the cooled chocolate.
Beat in the milk and cream on low speed. Stir in the almond meal then the sifted flour and cocoa. Pour the mixture into the pan and sprinkle with the cherries and chopped chocolate.
Bake the slice about 25 minutes. When baked, stand slice in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
Notes
Serve it on its own or warm from the oven with cream or ice-cream.
