Easter 'bunny' bread

What a weekend! Thank you for all my Birthday wishes. I’m still digesting all the food and fun I’ve had over a the last few days and you know I’ll share it in great detail but for now I’m just going to eat smoothies all day today and talk about something other than my feasting.

My Birthday piñata cake on Friday was a huge hit on Facebook and I have to say, I was pretty proud of it but not everything I create is successful. Seeing as I’m all for full disclosure, today I’m sharing my most recent Pinterest fail. If you don’t know, a Pinterest fail is when you attempt to recreate something you saw on Pinterest, only to have the result look absolutely nothing like the original.

Easter 'bunny' bread

My bunny rabbit breads are the perfect example. I think they look like little devils and Will thought we could call them Easter armadillos. Whatever you call them, I’m pretty sure bunny is not in the top 10 descriptions that spring to mind.

This is what they were meant to look like. I think the type of bread was where I went wrong. I used good old Kevin the sourdough starter to make sourdough rolls but I think a softer dough, like hot dog buns, would have been better (although I’m a little dubious as to how their bunny ears rounded out when they were pointy after getting the snip).

Bunny tail

At least their fluffy little tails were cute don’t you think?

They didn’t go to waste though don’t worry. I blitzed them up in the food processor so I have fresh sourdough crumbs ready to go next time the need arises. I guess that means it wasn’t a total failure.

What about you? What do you think they look like? What have you made that hasn’t turned out anything like the original?
